At this year's 55th annual conference of the AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats / International Association of Young Lawyers), Árpád Geréd was elected President of the Commission for the Protection of Intellectual Property, Technology, Media and Telecommunications (IP/TMT).
In continuation of the objectives he has already pursued as Vice President, Árpád Geréd will devote himself to intensifying the cooperation between the AIJA and technology-oriented organizations and associations in the next three years. The focus will be on events on the most relevant topics in the fields of IP and IT, especially on data and cyber security as well as the EU General Data Protection Regulation which will enter into force in May 2018.
Since 1962, the AIJA (www.aija.org) has been offering a worldwide association to young lawyers and in-house counsels up to the age of 45. With more than 4,000 members from 90 countries, it provides a forum for global cooperation and information exchange among lawyers through congresses, seminars and working groups on various legal topics.
